What do you do with your piece or pieces of paper after you die cut an image out of it/them? Do you throw them away or do you look at the negative in a way to make a second card?
After die cutting from a piece of water colored paper on yesterday, the negative really looked good enough to use on another card base with a different impression.
- I had cut out the Spellbinders Romantic Vines from a piece of Ranger water colored that had been colored. You can see the card I made yesterday, HERE. Do you see the vines I used on this card?
Now for today, I used that same piece of paper as the focal point for this card you are looking at.
- I selected some Recollections flowers to include in some of the areas on the card.
- For the embellishment I placed three blue Recollection gems toward the top.
- Below the gems , I used a Ranger clear embossing ink pad and stamped the sentiment (from Hero Arts clear stamp set) onto the card. Blue embossing powder was heat embossed over the stamped sentiment.

cardstock: Neenah white and Recollection black
focal area specialty paper: Ranger water colored paper that had been water colored and a die cut had been used for parts from it. This is the negative that was left
embellishments: three Recollection flowers; three Recollection gems
stamp: Hero Arts clear stamp
ink: Ranger Emboss It clear embossing ink pad and blue embossing powder
Take a second look after you die cut. The negative just may look good enough for a second card.
